Archives of the Center for Jewish Culture
The Archives of the Center for Jewish Culture in the Claire T. Carney Library Archives and Special Collections is an extensive collection of historical materials documenting the history of the Jewish communities in Fall River and New Bedford, Massachusetts. It includes manuscript records of social, philanthropic and religious organizations, personal and family papers, and oral histories that together weave a tale of Jewish immigration to the Fall River and New Bedford areas from the turn of the 19th century to the present day. Formats include photographs, correspondence, posters, textile and other artifacts, and audio and video recordings. The nucleus of the ACJC Digital Collection consists of images depicting various people and events in the community. This is an ongoing project that will eventually include hundreds of photographs from the Jewish Community Center scrapbook collection and other manuscript collections.
